Recently I had a discussion with one of my friend
about why everyone has his/her own ways of travelling
some love to rush from one destination to another
taking pictures and that's it
while some enjoy wondering around
exploring those small alleys and shops

I stumbled upon this blog post on solitarywanderer
and I'm so inspired

I guess I'm learning to be that kind of girl
learning to have big thoughts and enjoy small pleasures
admiring the journey rather than the destinations.


" Date a girl who  t r a v e l s
date a girl who would rather save up for out of town trips
or day trips than buy new shoes or clothes

She may not look like a fashion plate
but behind that tanned and freckled face from all the days out in the sun
lies a mind that can take you places
and an  o p e n  heart that will take you for what you are
not for what you can be

A girl who travels knows that anytime
a n y t h i n g  can happen
and she just has to be  p r e p a r e d  with it
Nothing takes her by surprise

she takes everything with  e q u a n i m i t y
knowing that such things are always part of life

she's  r e l i a b l e   and dependable
traits that she's learned while on the road

You'll also recognise a girl who travels
by the fact that
she's always  a m a z e d  at the world around her
no matter if she's in her home town
or in a place that's totally new

she sees  b e a u t y  all around her
not just the ones featured in travel guides or shown in postcards

A girl who travels has developed a deeper  a p p r e c i a t i o n  for life

She won't judge you
or pressure you to do things you don't want to do

She knows too much about
the importance of  i d e n t i t y  and  s e l f - e f f i c a c y 
and she will appreciate all the more
if you won't pretend to be who you're not

You can make mistakes with a girl who travels
and you can also be as idiosyncratic as you can be

Trust me

she has seen so much worse in her travels
and knows firsthand
the  v a g a r i e s  of human nature

She won't mind if you get lost on your way to a date

she knows that oftentimes
the  j o u r n e y  is more important
than the destination

She will help you see the lighter side of things
She'll walk  a l o n g  with you
not behind you
pointing out the interesting bits of things you'll see on the way

Before long

you'll realise that
the journey has been more  m e m o r a b l e 
than the destination that you've planned to take her to. "
